No! Our classes will start to learn “Showcase dances” when they return from winter break. A typical class will include a warm-up, center work, across the floor and/or combinations. When the class begins to learn their showcase dance, this will take the place of combinations. As showcase time nears they may spend a bit more time on rehearsing their dance, but class will never be devoted only to learning the dance. We want our students to learn the technique needed to be a dancer, not just how to learn a dance.
If we miss a class, is it possible to make it up?
All classes can be made up at any time within 2 months. We encourage students to make up missed classes so they may keep their level of training consistent and they will progress faster and not fall behind the rest of the class. If you need to make-up your missed class, please see your child’s teacher for appropriate class.
What are the qualifications of the instructors?
Our instructors are highly trained in the dance forms that they are teaching. Whether previously training under our Director, or having experience teaching at other quality schools before coming to our studio. Our instructors have many years of “dance studio” experience. New teachers are observed teaching our classes before they are hired by DancEnergy, LLC.
Do I need to stay at the studio while my child has class or can I drop off/pick up?
With children under the age of 8 we encourage parents to stay in the waiting area until the children become acclimated to the new situation. Once they are, the parents may bring the children in and run off for errands during class time. We do expect parents to pick them up promptly. We understand there can be an occasional problem and a child must wait for a little bit. If this happens, please call the studio and inform the teacher. If the teacher has another class, your child will be asked to wait inside the dance room until you have arrived.
When is tuition due?
Tuition payments are due on the First of each month, and late after the 7th. If payment is not received by the 7th, a $10 late fee will be added to your account. If your account falls over 60 days behind, we will ask that your child sit and watch class until this balance is brought current.
What If I'm late for class?
We understand that being late is sometimes unavoidable, however, a student who is more than 20 minutes late for class may be asked by the teacher to observe rather than take class. This is not a disciplinary measure, but it is done with the student's best interests in mind. A student who misses the beginning exercises runs the risk of injury by not being properly warmed up. Please make sure the student understands this.
What do you do in bad weather, does the studio close?
We will follow the Wake County Inclement Weather policy. If Wake County closes or dismissed school for weather reasons we will also be closed. If they have a delay, any/all morning classes will be canceled, but will hold all regular evening classes. We will make every effort to e-mail all students/parents and inform them of our decisions. Your safety is our main concern.
Please check this website in the case of bad weather. We will place a notice if we will be closing the studio.
Are children always placed in classes according to their age?
We initially place children in classes according to their age. However, if we feel that the student needs to be in another level, we will place the child accordingly. This decision is made by the teacher, and then observed by the Director. Please trust this decision as we are looking out for your child’s best interest. This decision is so that we are sure they will learn in the best situation.
When do you start registering students for classes?
Registration for Fall enrollment will be open to present students on March 23, and open to the public on April 6.
*Free Registration with proof of enrollment from another dance studio!
(You will still be required to pay the first month of tuition upon registering).
What is the Referral program?
If you have a friend that is interested in registering their child, they can put your name on their registration form and you will receive a $5.00 credit in May.
This is UNLIMITED, the more people you refer the more your save!
Do you offer sibling discounts?
Our prices are very different from other dance studios and we feel are very reasonable. Instead of having a first child rate and a second child rate, our prices are based upon total hours for your family. The more classes your family is enrolled in, the more you save. We do this so that your family can take advantage of as many classes as they wish.
What does my showcase fee include?
Your showcase fee will include 2 tickets for your family, as well as help offset the cost of the auditorium for our show, programs, etc.
Will my child have an opportunity to perform other than the Showcase?
We will make every attempt to allow for each class to perform at least one time throughout the dance year. Every student will be invited to participate in the Christmas Parade. We are already planning on participating in the Rolesville and Wake Forest parades. Although your child’s involvement in the parade will require a minimum charge that will cover a “studio warm-up jacket”. The “studio warm-up jacket” will give everyone a uniform look! If your child participates in a community performance, they will not be required to purchase a costume, as we will try to use what the students already have.
*We also offer a Performing/Competition Company which is for students who wish to pursue more intense training and participate in all local performances and competitions. (This class is in addition to your regular dance class and will meet for “Company Choreography”. During this class they will learn their performance/competition dances. We will not take their regular class time to learn competition dances! The only time we will use regular class time is to rehearse a dance that is performing at a upcoming local event (example: Meet in the street, Rolesville Fall festival, etc).
This Company will be called “Rhythm Company”. A student’s placement will depend on dance experience, ability, and also attitude. A student’s age does not determine Company level.
