Ms. Kelly Gray

Adv. Ballet Technique / Pre-Pointe

Ms. Kelly began dance at the age of 6 through a small exchange program in Raleigh. She continued her
training in Knightdale under Mary May School of Ballet & Dance Art for 11 years. During that time
Kelly studied multiple genres of dance including ballet, point, jazz, lyrical and tap. Within that time, she
had additional trained under Mrs. Betty Kovach for 4 years while attending Enloe High School.

For extended training in college Ms. Kelly attended East Carolina University, studying under Mr. Joe Corrow, where she continued her concentration in ballet. Ms. Kelly transferred to Meredith college two years later to expand her dance focus to include Modern and Improvisational dance. Ms. Kelly became a member of the school dance company, Meredith Dance Theater, for three years. During that time she choreographed numerous pieces for herself as well as other dancers, including solos, duets, and small groups that were performed throughout the semi-annual showcases held each school year. While attending Meredith College, Ms. Kelly was nominated and presented with the Dance Departments Academic Excellence Award for the year of 2003. That December she graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Performance and Choreography, and a minor in Sports Science.

Over the past seven years Ms. Kelly has taught at several local dance studios, focusing on ballet, pointe, jazz and modern dance to students of all ages. However her personal concentration remains with ballet and pointe. Ms. Kelly has recently began training and teaching basic levels of tumbling and gymnastics.

Ms. Kelly has three dogs; J-Bo, Mossy & Cole, and three cats; Sugar, Sudds & Yas. I spend my free time reading books and enjoying the outdoors.
