ALL CLASSES USE AGE APPROPRIATE MUSIC & COSTUMES
Pre-Ballet / Tumble (ages 2 1/2- 3)
Intro to Ballet / Tumble (ages 4 & 5)
These programs work to develop their imagination, space, body and directional awareness. The focus with body awareness and coordination in an environment that is filled with fun and action. As the children progress they are taught basic dance movements and skills in ballet, through dancing and dance oriented games.
Program also encourages social skills such as taking turns, cooperation, and friendly words and actions.
AGES: 5-7 yrs old
Ballet / Tap (1 hr) & Ballet / Tap / Jazz ( 1 1/2 hrs)
Students will have 30 min. of Ballet & 30 min. of Tap or 30 min of Tap, 30 min of Ballet, and 30 min of Jazz)
These classes focus on the introduction of each dance form, and to lay good foundation for continued education. See below for description of each dance form.
AGES: 7 and up
Tap:
Learn the Rhythms and Stylin's of Tap! Tap is a Historic & Fun Dance Form! Students develop a repertoire of technical elements, rhythmic footwork creative combinations and challenging beats. Tap, as a dance form, is distinguished by percussive footwork that marks out precise rhythmic patterns on the floor.
Jazz:
Jazz is the original dance form from Broadway. A physical, energetic, and upbeat dance form that emphasizes body line, flexible torso, fast accurate footwork. This style of dance, which uses ballet technique combined with current styles of dance. The program teaches all the jazz styles and techniques.
Lyrical:
An expressive movement class using combinations of ballet, jazz and modern dance forms.
Hip Hop:
High Energy, upbeat dance class. Students learn technical elements based on music video styles using the most current Funk/Hip Hop combinations in the media today. This approach ensures the students may use today's combinations effectively. The Funk / Hip Hop dance form is an expression of the popular music that originated in New York in the early 1980s
Ballet:
Ballet is the anchor and base for all dance forms. A classical form of dance which focused on body alignment, improving body alignment and technique. Barre, ceter floor & progressions (movements across the floor) are used to develop technique.
Pre-Pointe / Pointe:
Ballet pointe classes are available to those students who, at the discretion of the Ballet instructor, are recognized to be ready. Ballet exams are offered when the Ballet instructor feels the student is ready.
